An extension gives you more time to file, not more time to pay. What you owe for the year is still due in April.

Dates assume a December 31 year end. If your business uses a fiscal year, yours shift with it.

California

California follows the federal calendar almost everywhere. Three differences:

  • Form 568 is due April 15, a month after the federal partnership return.
  • The extension is automatic, but it does not postpone the payment.
  • The $800 annual LLC tax is due in April of the year you are operating in, not with the return.

Dates can also be postponed for disaster relief, which California sees more often than most states. Those are announced case by case and are not shown above.

General information for planning, not advice about your situation.
